With many of our lawyers coming from an in-house background, we use our experience to focus on your legal needs and what matters most to you and your business.
Our Informed Counsel programme ensures you can access our expertise and know-how through panel-based events, seminars, training, networking opportunities and our monthly digital digest; enabling you to remain informed in an ever-changing legal landscape.
Our Informed Counsel Conference provides practical insights and key legal updates relevant to all in-house counsel.
This year we will be running three conferences in three different locations.
Each will be slightly different. Newcastle will hold a panel discussion on the importance of building strategic alliances, whether this is with internal stakeholders, clients, contractors or suppliers. The panel will include keynote speakers from Lloyds Banking Group and Venator.
In Bristol, Nancy Rollason will provide insight into her role in the public sector as Head of Legal Services for Bristol City Council.
Chris Newby, General Counsel at AIG EMEA will be our keynote speaker in London. Chris' interactive session will allow you to reflect on and share the current challenges you face as an inhouse lawyer and business advisor, as well as providing insight into potential solutions and best practice.
On top of that, there will be elective breakout sessions at all locations.
"An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest" (Benjamin Franklin, 1708-1790)
We think Mr Franklin had a very good point – knowledge is at the core of our services and is critical to the way in which we manage our relationship with you. An integral part of this offer are our events and seminars. We pride ourselves on our ability to deliver commercially focused, insightful, and practical training.
Our programme offers you and your colleagues the opportunity to access a wide range of training and knowledge initiatives. We will help ensure that you and your team are up to date with the very latest legal, regulatory and practice developments and the likely impact on you, your team, your industry and sector. Our programme provides a direct route into our lawyers’ expertise, opening lines of communication. We can also assist you with both your own personal and career development and with the delivery of strategic priorities.
Networking with like-minded people is core to understanding the landscape that others face in the legal market. Our Informed Counsel programme offers a variety of networking opportunities, including our annual GCs dinner in London.
For our last GC's dinner the focus was on 'Building strategic partnerships with your business.'
We understand that aligning a legal team’s strategy with that of the wider business is a challenge that most legal teams face.
During this session, GCs discussed these ongoing demands and how innovative and technical driven measures are helping to overcome such challenges, along with how optimising relationships with external advisers can provide value to businesses and ensure greater efficiency.
"Thank you to you and the team for the absolutely fantastic soft skill session. The course leader was absolutely terrific and has given me lots of very practical hints and tips. It was particularly great to meet some of your other clients and listen to their stories, challenges and a bit about their roles."
